Bay to Bay Boatclub

135 Lakeview Avenue, Excelsior

If you are `shopping around’ for boat clubs, you have a few choices. We market ourselves as the Country Club of Boating; where everything is done for you at a high level. Bay To Bay is the creator and innovator of the Boat Club concept. Other clubs have imitated and tried to copy our model, but no one does it as well. BTB has been in business longer than all of our competitors have been, combined. We offer the largest fleet of luxurious boats and our boats have more amenities, some are even custom made. Size-wise the boats are far bigger. Even the little things; every one of our boats has a porta potty bathroom/changing room and all boats have great stereo with blue tooth. The option of having a Captain, catering service, all toys included and exceptional service is what we sell.

Lake Minnetonka Sailing School, Inc.

19802 Minnetonka Blvd, Deephaven

Recreational Sailing, Learn to Race, LMSS Race Teams

Founders established the Minnetonka Yacht Club (MYC) in 1899 before Deephaven was even incorporated as a village. Lake Minnetonka Sailing School (LMSS) started in the 1920s when MYC members were interested in organized sailing education for their children. For about twenty years, a volunteer group of parents ran private lessons out of the Minnetonka Yacht Club. The informal sailing school operated with a policy of BYOB- Bring Your Own Boat. To this day, both MYC and LMSS call Lighthouse Island home.

Today, Lake Minnetonka Sailing School is one of the largest sailing schools in the nation with over 700 students enrolling each summer. Senior Coach Gordy Bowers won three Olympic medals during his years as Head Coach of the US Sailing Team.

Steamboat Minnehaha and The Museum of Lake Minnetonka

37 Water Street, Excelsior
Enjoy an afternoon on Lake Minnetonka aboard the Steamboat Minnehaha.  From Memorial Day to October Fall colors, the restored 1906 steamboat delights visitors with scenic cruises of Lake Minnetonka.  The 1906 steamboat was one of a fleet of seven that provided transportation to the luxury hotels on the Lake.  At the onset of the automobile, the boats were all sunk, a common custom at the end of the useful life of a vessel.  The Minnehaha, recovered after 50 years on the bottom of Lake Minnetonka, was restored, and now operates as a nonprofit museum.
