The Commons-Excelsior

The swimming beach at The Commons is open seven days a week. Beginning Saturday, June 3rd through Sunday, August 6th qualified lifeguards are on duty from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm daily, weather permitting. Dates and times outside those listed are swim at your own risk. 

Wayzata Beach-Wayzata

Wayzata Beach is several blocks west of the Depot and Boatworks off grove lane. The beach can be accessed both through the city marina and the nearby parking, some of which require permits. This is a great beach for swimming as there are seasonal life guards on duty. Restrooms are located in the bathhouse where there is an outdoor shower. The connected marina has docking for 100 boats.

Nelson Lakeside Park

1860 Symes Street

Located in the heart of downtown, Nelson Lakeside Park is on Long Lake and features a public boat launch, fishing pier, rack for canoe storage (contact the City Clerk to check for availability), a swimming beach, a picnic shelter with tables, grills and picnic tables around the park, playground equipment, and is home to the Long Lake Veterans Memorial.

No lifeguards are on duty, and swimming is at your own risk.  Please note that dogs are not allowed to swim in the swimming beach area.
